• Welcome to my blog!

Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog! I'm a mom of three and a portrait photographer in Fairfield County, CT specializing in families and head shots.

I use my blog to share posts about my sessions, announce specials and to share a piece of myself!

I love to help women feel beautiful from the inside out and to help families take a moment to be fully present and connect with each! I do that through my photography and also through sharing my own struggles here on my blog!

New Canaan- Waveny Park Family Portraits- Fairfield County CT

I’ve photographed this beautiful family for several years but usually they come to my mini sessions offered through the schools. We always get beautiful pictures but this year was special! We did a full private session at Waveny Park and it was such a treat! I love my mini sessions and almost always get shots that clients love BUT I really enjoy the extra time in the regular session and the ability to offer more variety of poses and backgrounds. Such a beautiful family! Here are some of my favorites of the kids.  I love all the images but the silhouette is my fav!

Family Beach Portraits- Southport, CT

I think the most requested session I get is for beach portraits. Unfortunately most of my clients asking that question have toddlers and babies. I have to warn them that the best time to take beach portraits is 1-1 1/2 hours before sunset and all moms know what time that is! The bewitched hour! I prefer to work around my clients nap and feeding times when it comes to babies and toddlers. To me a happy baby is more important than the location of the session!

With that said, when a family does not have any itty bitty ones I LOVE sessions at the beach!! The sand between your toes, the fresh ocean breeze, the muted tones of the sand, ocean and sky. It is a beautiful background for classic clean timeless portraits!

Here is one session at the beach in Southport CT. We started by the marina way before sunset (such a pretty area) and headed then headed over to the beach as it got closer to sunset. Not your typical beach session location but it was beautiful and even more important…we had a ball!

Nude Maternity Portraits- Fairfield County CT

Do you do nudes? A male caller asked me this one day. My answer… Are you 6-8 months pregnant? Sorry, I do not “do nudes” BUT I LOVE nude maternity sessions. There is something so beautiful and natural and innocent about nude maternity portraits. Having been pregnant three times myself and loving every minute of it (even with the extra 50lbs for each baby), I MISS  being pregnant! I felt so special!

I personally did not have “the body” to pull off nude portraits nor was I comfortable enough in my own skin to do so BUT I’m very comfortable working with other moms to create nude maternity images. I enjoy all maternity sessions and admire the moms that take the time to create images that show how beautiful  they are with their pregnant figures. It is a gift to yourself, your spouse and your baby to honor your pregnancy in this way.

Thinking about nude maternity portraits? Don’t worry! I don’t normally post the nude images as I feel they are private but I’m soooo thankful to this GORGEOUS momma to be for allowing me to share hers! She is a vision of beauty! I would also like to thank Demi Moore for making nude maternity portraits popular with her nude cover of Vanity Fair in 1991!

Family Portraits- Wilton CT- Ambler Farm

Catching up on my blog posts after a VERY busy Fall! I love my Family Photo Days at Ambler Farm in Wilton. The farm is a special place to me. It’s so special that I even sponsor a couple of their big events and I am a member too. You can find me there photographing children and families all year long.

Families come from all over Fairfield County and from other parts of CT and NY to participate in my mini sessions on the farm. I’ve been doing mini sessions since 2006 and have photographed over 1000 families over the years! Mostly at my Wilton and New Canaan Family Photo Days. No exaggeration!

Experience pays off! I often get comments on how amazing it is that I get so many great images in such short sessions. Funny, it’s actually quite a workout because we move all over the farm. I’m exhausted by the end of the day but it’s all worth it in the end!

I had too many sessions to put them all on my blog but here are a few to give you a sample of the images I get in “mini sessions”! Don’t mind the light watermark on all the pictures. Just trying to protect the images.:-(

Want to sign up for a Mini Session? Don’t wait til Fall! My Spring & Summer minis are actually a little longer in length AND I offer a discount on prints! Fall sessions usually sell out with my repeat clients so take advantage of the other seasons OR sign up early! Be sure to LIKE my Facebook Page as I post them there first!

Silver & Gold- Waveny Park Family Portraits- New Canaan CT

“Make NEW Friends and KEEP the OLD, One is SILVER and the others GOLD.”. I always loves that song and felt that it was true about friends. For me it is also true about CLIENTS !!

My clients are friends and some I feel like are family because I have been with them for many years and have watched the children grow. Then there are the new clients. Most of them are so very nice and I consider myself so lucky to have such wonderful clients!

On occasion I get families that are BEYOND nice! They are amazingly kind and full of compliments for what I do. They make me feel so blessed and give me the strength and motivation to keep working in a business that can eat you alive in the busy season!

I happen to work with two such families on November weekend at Waveny in New Canaan, CT. One of these families I’ve been photographing annually since 2006 and the other was new this year. Their kindness and appreciation for what I do are PRICELESS gifts that I TREASURE! Thank YOU both! I also thank the other clients (not in these images) that are so appreciative and kind as well. I love you all!

I normally photograph the one family in their New Canaan home but this year decided to mix it up by shooting at Waveny Park. I was happy that the schedule also worked for the new family with their beautiful daughter and two precious dogs. I love it when families bring their dogs to a session. They are part of the family too and should be in the annual portraits!
